ACCORD Freedom Trail Guided Trolley Tour

Anniversary to Commemorate the Civil Rights Demonstrations (ACCORD) has organized a narrated history tour for each Saturday in February to coincide with Black History Month. The tour includes many of the 30+ sites of the Freedom Trail Tour. This tour will be narrated by local historian and author David Nolan. Visitors will embark the local Green Trolley Bus and learn about the rich Civil Rights and African American History of St. Augustine. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. Please call (904) 347-1382 to reserve your seat.

David Nolan is a founding member of the ACCORD and a local historian, activist and author who has written books on Florida history and architecture published by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich and The Pineapple Press. In 2009, on the 45th Anniversary of the passage of the Civil Right Act, he received the President’s Volunteer Service Award from former President Barack Obama. He currently resides in St. Augustine and continues his research, writing and community service.

Funding for these programs and related exhibition are provided in part through a Florida Humanities Community Project Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with ACCORD. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
