Cutting Edge Explorations in Quilting

Valerie S. Goodwin, Tallahassee Arts Guide

The laser cutter can provide precision cutting that leads to beautiful detail. This session focuses on how it has impacted the cartographic art quilts of Valerie Goodwin. You are invited to learn how this technology works and the journey she has taken exploring its possibilities.

Valerie S. Goodwin received degrees in architecture from Washington University and Yale University. Currently, she teaches architectural design at Florida A & M University. Most of her work is inspired by a love of maps, aerial views of landscapes and the network of cities. Her award-winning work has been widely published and exhibited. She has lectured and given workshops nationally and internationally.
