Dialogues in Local Democracy, Conversation 2
March 18 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

Nova Southeastern University’s Council for Dialogue and Democracy is hosting the second in a series of three workshops focused on the Broward County community’s needs and wants as regards local government services and processes. Broward County residents are invited to participate in these community conversations to explore the workings of local government and how these actions meet (or don’t meet) the needs of the County’s residents. This first discussion will focus on past government services and their effectiveness in meeting community needs, thought additional topics as identified by participants will be discussed as well. It is, after all, their wants and needs that are most important. Discussions will be facilitated by faculty and graduate students drawn from NSU’s Departments of Conflict Resolution Studies and Humanities and Politics.
The third and final community conversation will be April 15, 2023 and will focus on the future of local government. Participation in all three workshops is preferred, but participants may attend one, two or all three workshops as their schedules permit. All sessions will be held in-person at the NSU campus. A light breakfast and a box lunch will be provided. Transportation to the workshop site available upon request.
Registration is required. This series of community conversations is funded in part through a Florida Humanities Greater Good: Humanities in Academia Grant in partnership with Nova Southeastern University.
