Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Celebration of Equity

The Caribbean American Cultural Group hosts its fourteenth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Celebration of Equity. This one-hour presentation with Dr. Regine Michelle Jean-Charles emphasizes the significance of Dr. King’s work, its impact on society, and how communities can continue progressing as an inclusive community. Dr. Charles engages the audience through personal stories, historical anecdotes, quotes from civil rights leaders and a contemporary perspective on the lasting effects of the 1960s civil rights movement. Dr. Regine Michelle Jean-Charles is the Dean’s Professor of Culture and Social Justice as well as the Director of Africana Studies at Northeastern University.

Donations welcome for the CACG MLK Scholarship Fund. Funding for this speaker series is provided in part through a Florida Humanities Community Project Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Caribbean American Cultural Group.
