Exhibit Opening: “Voices of Amelia Island”

June 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the Amelia Island Museum of History for the opening of their newest temporary exhibit, Voices of Amelia! This exhibit highlights the nationally-acclaimed musicians and vocalists from Amelia Island, as well as local venues that defined the island’s musical history. The exhibit tracks local musical culture from pre-European contact all the way until Amelia Island’s current status as a hub for music festivals. This exhibit will be on display until August 30th and the opening event will feature a lecture by National Geographic author and Florida Talks speaker Gary McKechnie, titled Sunshine State Soundtrack: The Famous Musicians of Florida.

Event is free to members. Suggested donation of $5 for non-members.

Funding for this program is provided through Community Project Grant from Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Amelia Island Museum of History.
