Florida’s Seminole Wars
December 17, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The state and territory of Florida was host to three wars against Seminoles resisting encroachment and removal to Oklahoma Territory from 1817 to 1858. Florida’s Seminole Wars will examine the causes and outcomes of the three wars over the weekend of events. Friday, December 17 is a school field trip day (pre-registration required) and will feature a roster of living historians and heritage skills presenters. Saturday, Dcember 18, and Sunday, December 19, are open to the general public and included in the museum fee. Programming will feature lectures, presentations, demonstrations and reenactments that paint the picture of one of the most pivotal eras of Florida’s colorful history.
The program is funded in part through a Florida Humanities Community Project Grant in partnership with the Pioneer Florida Museum Association.
