Good Day Sunshine State: How the Beatles Rocked Florida

January 25, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Through dozens of primary interviews, letters, photographs, and court transcripts, Kealing chronicles the Beatles’ travels in this presentation through the potboiler that was 1964 Florida.

Bob Kealing is the author of five books on Florida history and culture. He is a six-time Emmy Award-winning retired reporter and two-time recipient of the Edward R Murrow Award. Also a historic preservationist, Kealing is the founder of Four Florida Heritage Sites, commemorating Jack Kerouac, the Allman Brothers Band, Gram Parsons, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He is the married father of two college-age children.

Registration is required to attend and donations are welcome. Parking is available at the Old School Square parking garage located next to the OSS Field House.

This Florida Talks program is a partnership between Florida Humanities and the Delray Beach Historical Society. Funding for this program was provided by Florida Humanities and sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
