Program Description:

Join Friends of Hemming Park, The Performer’s Academy and Hope at Hand for an evening of spoken word, music, food and fun during Jax Poetry Fest. Jax Poetry Fest is a month-long collaboration between Friends of Hemming Park, Hope at Hand and the Performer’s Academy. We’ll host hands-on poetry activities in the park all month long to celebrate the power of both written and spoken word and to encourage conversations about diversity, inclusion and social justice. We will wrap things up on Saturday, April 27th with the biggest poetry celebration Jacksonville has ever seen! Emmy and Peabody honoree Al Letson will host and perform along with award winning poets including Ebony Payne English, Tiffany Steward Melanson, Matthew “Cuban” Hernandez, Kia Flow and more.
