Program Description:

The Manatee Observation and Education Center (MOEC) was established in 1996 to promote understanding and responsible actions for the protection of the Treasure Coast’s fragile ecosystems and their inhabitants. As part of a program funded in part by the Florida Humanities Council, MOEC will host Susan Hamburger, President of the Florida Master Naturalist St. Lucie Chapter to present, “Making a Difference – Volunteer Algae Monitoring Program.” As many Floridians know, hazardous algal blooms can threaten human health and the health of ecosystems. Join MOEC to learn how citizen scientists are making a difference through the Volunteer Algae Monitoring Program. This program is part of the Eco Evenings speaker series. Each evening begins with a social at 6:30pm followed by a presentation at 7:00pm.
