Making Florida Home Podcast Series – Season 1

The Florida Heritage Project presents, The Making Florida Home Podcast Series. Listen to discussions focusing on Florida’s historic communities, old and new. Guest speakers include community members and scholars who share their insights about the people who have made Florida their home. Our first season features Stuart Brown discussing his project on the Calusa. Autumn Watkins Holloway tells listeners about the Williams Academy Black History Museum in Fort Myers and the future African American Cultural Center. Nadine Kramarz speaks to the unique challenges of doing archaeology in Florida. Learn about the efforts to bring the Haitian Revolution to the screen including exciting video games with Alyssa Sepinwall. Hear about the Vietnamese and pan-Asian American communities in Orlando from Ricky Ly. Season one closes with a look at South Florida’s Brazilian population through the lens of Steven Butterman.
