Miami Book Fair 2023: Beatlemania Meets Miami
November 18 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

In 1964, Beatlemania exploded in the United States as the Fab Four appeared live on The Ed Sullivan Show and toured the country. On that visit, The Beatles spent more time in Florida than anywhere else. In Good Day Sunshine State: How the Beatles Rocked Florida, author and journalist Bob Kealing explores the band’s influence on the people and culture of the state. Joining him in conversation is radio personality Joe Johnson, host of the nationally syndicated “Beatle Brunch” show. Bob Kealing, an Edward R. Murrow and four-time Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, is the author of four nonfiction books. Joe Johnson is a local and national radio host who spent 30 years at “oldies” station Magic 102.7 in Miami. His nationally syndicated “Beatle Brunch” radio show has aired for 32 years.
Free parking is available at the MDC Wolfson Campus Parking Garage from Sunday, November 12 through Sunday, November 19. The garage is located at 500 NE Second Avenue; the entrance is on NE Fifth Street between First and Second Avenues. Additional parking options are available through the Miami Parking Authority at Garage No. 3: College Station and Garage No. 4: Convention Center for a flat $5 fee. Both garages are open 24/7.
Visit the Miami Book Fair’s website for details and the most up-to-date information about the fair. Some activities require paid registration. Funding is provided in part through a Florida Humanities Book Festival Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Library Foundation for Sarasota County.
