Miami Book Fair 2023: Chronicling the Sunshine State

Kirsten Hines and Jacki Levine come together for a conversation entitled Chronicling the Sunshine State. In Wild Florida: An Animal Odyssey Kirsten Hines provides a captivating visual and narrative journey into the ecology of the state’s animals. Jacki Levine’s Once Upon a Time in Florida: Stories of Life in the Land of Promises is an anthology of 50 intriguing stories of life in the Sunshine State by some of the nation’s most acclaimed writers and scholars. Kirsten Hines is a Florida-based author, wildlife photographer, and conservationist. She has written numerous articles and five books and given presentations on gardening for birds and other wildlife in South Florida’s unique environment. Jacki Levine is a longtime Florida journalist. From 2017 to 2021 she was the editor of FORUM, the magazine of Florida Humanities. Prior to that she was managing editor of the Gainesville Sun for 14 years.
Free parking is available at the MDC Wolfson Campus Parking Garage from Sunday, November 12 through Sunday, November 19. The garage is located at 500 NE Second Avenue; the entrance is on NE Fifth Street between First and Second Avenues. Additional parking options are available through the Miami Parking Authority at Garage No. 3: College Station and Garage No. 4: Convention Center for a flat $5 fee. Both garages are open 24/7.
