Modern History of Folk Music from the 60s – Part I

September 10, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Modern History and Folk Music(1)

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida International University is hosting a lecture series in collaboration with Brockway Memorial Library titled “Modern History of Folk Music from the 60s.” Born in 1941 as Robert Allen Zimmerman, Bob Dylan would go on to become an iconic figure in pop culture. Many would say he is one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time. Join Michael Stock on an exploratory journey of his work. This session on Bob Dylan will be split into two parts: the first this week and the second half Saturday on September 17.

This session is one of four in a series; however, it is not necessary to attend all four Saturdays. Each session may be attended individually. Registration is required. This program is funded in part through a Florida Humanities Greater Good: Humanities in Academia Grant in partnership with Florida International University.
