Police Brutality and Confederate Imagery: The Black Freedom Struggle in One Florida County

Dr. J Michael Butler shares a close examination of events in Escambia County in the 1970s that demonstrates how-and why-the struggle against segregation in Florida continued well after the Civil Rights movement ended in the 1960s. This program is a partnership between the Florida Humanities and the Friends of the Palm Beach County Public Library.

Funding for this program was provided by Florida Humanities and sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.
