Program Description:

Dr. Tameka Hobbs, author of Democracy Abroad, Lynching at Home: Racial Violence in Florida, addresses the white violence frequently experienced by blacks during the Jim Crow era. Presenting excerpts from her book and in Q&A to follow, Dr. Hobbs will link this history to the country’s current crisis of antiblack violence, enabling a deeper understanding of the work still to be done, and the value of the Movement for Black Lives.
