Is history always written by the victors? Taking into account multiple perspectives allows us to gain a broader understanding of the past. Over 4,000 lynchings of African Americans have been documented in the United States. Join Dr. David Jamison of Edwards Waters College and Dr. Scott Matthews of Florida State College of Jacksonville as they share their research on the seven documented victims of lynching in Duval County, Florida. This program considers the unique relationship between archival and oral histories. Q & A will follow the presentation.
