Program Description:

Following the career of two classical dancers, this movie revisits the extraordinary destiny of Alicia Alonso, the founder of the National Ballet of Cuba. Alonso, who will soon turn 100 years, is one of the most renown public figures in Cuba. The movie interweaves her life with that of two young dancers at different stages in their career to tell a beautiful story about women and dance. Screening will be presented and followed by Q&A session led by Dr. Javier González, associate professor of Early Childhood Education at Barry University. Screening in Spanish with English subtitles. Discussion in English.
