South Florida Book Festival 2023: Rob Kenner, The Marathon Don’t Stop: The Life and Times of Nipsey Hussle
July 15 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The South Florida Book Festival 2023 presents a conversation with Rob Kenner, the author of The Marathon Don’t Stop: The Life and Times of Nipsey Hussle. A founding editor of VIBE, Kenner joined the start-up team of Quincy Jones’s groundbreaking hip-hop monthly in 1992. During a 19-year run at VIBE, he edited and wrote cover and feature stories on iconic cultural figures ranging from Tupac Shakur to Barack Obama.
Join the Broward County Library’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center for the 2023 South Florida Book Festival, “WORD! Celebrating 50 Years of Hip-Hop Culture” to explore the cultural explosion generated by the hip-hop phenomenon. Attendees will hear from nationally known speakers, learn the roots of hip-hop culture and meet local authors.
Registration is suggested but not required.
Funding is provided in part through a Florida Humanities Book Festival Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Broward Public Library Foundation. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
