Sunshine State Book Festival 2024

The Writers Alliance of Gainesville hosts the Fifth Annual Sunshine State Book Festival January 26-27, 2024. Attendees have an opportunity to meet and talk with over 200 local, regional, and state authors. Activities on Saturday include an awards ceremony for seven middle and high school students’ scholarships, storytimes with children’s books authors, a keynote discussion with award-winning author Jack Davis, and a literary heritage program entitled A Conversation with Frederick Douglass and Captain John Brown. Free parking is available onsite at the venue. Funding is provided in part through a Florida Humanities Book Festival Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Writers Alliance of Gainesville.
