The Art of Walt Disney

Walt Disney made significant contributions to the history of animation, film, and architecture, not to mention life in Florida. This presentation offers an in-depth look at the art and life of Walt Disney and discusses his impact on the development of cartoons, short- and feature-length movies, and theme parks.

Keri Watson is an associate professor of art history at the University of Central Florida and co-executive editor for Panorama: Journal of the Association of Historians of American Art. She is the author of This is America: Re-Viewing the Art of the United States (2023) and editor of the Routledge Companion to Art and Disability (2022).

This Florida Talks program is a partnership between Florida Humanities and the Seminole County Public Library.
