The Sage Project II: Hannibal Square Elders Tell Their Stories

On Saturday, April 13, following the April 12 dedication, a public panel discussion will be held with Hannibal Square Heritage Center historians Ms. Fairolyn Livingston and Ms. Mary Daniels, documentary photographer Mr. Peter Schreyer, and at least three Sage Project participants discussing the Sage Project and hearing some of the recollections and wisdom from the community’s Sages. The project is phase II of a photographic and oral history documentary to preserve and understand Winter Park’s historic African American community from the perspective of lifelong residents, ages 80 to 102. The second phase of 17 archival framed pieces will join the 18 pieces on permanent display at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.
