Uncrowned Queens: Our Matriarchs of Courage

John Gilmore Riley Center & Museum, “Uncrowned Queens: Matriarchs of Courage” exhibit highlights several women in Leon County who contributed growth, stability, and development throughout Tallahassee and Leon County. These women were pioneers due to their effect to demonstrate courage and inspire generations against opposition, inequality, and oppression. The production features photographic images of 18th through 20th-century women who lived within the City of Tallahassee and in surrounding legacy communities such as Lake Hall, Miccosukee, Lake McBride and others that will be featured during this exhibit.
