Step back in time and experience life as a Spanish-American War soldier through the eyes of the young volunteer soldier Henry A. Dobson. Sergeant Dobson of Company D, 1st D.C. Volunteers was 20 years old when he was encamped with his regiment in Tampa prior to the outbreak of the Spanish-American War in 1889. Dobson documented his daily experiences in numerous personal letters home. Enthusiastic and eager, he shares his opinions about the army and Tampa with insight, honesty, and humor. The theater performance is complimentary with admission to the Museum. Veterans and active military personnel enjoy free admission to the Museum
