Voices from Florida: Water Flows East

January 20 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join Rebecca Wood, environmental educator and “Swamped In the Glades!” board game creator, for a discussion about the historical flow and significance of transverse glades, their transformation into modern-day canals, and how directly we all impact and are impacted by the Everglades every single day.

Rebecca Wood has been an environmental educator in South Florida for over a decade, working independently, as well as through a handful of organizations, to provide opportunities for people to learn about and connect to Florida’s magical ecology. Through games, play, and hands-on interactive education, she strives to give participants a systemic understanding of Florida’s ecology and how we are all connected to it.

Funding for this program is provided through Community Project Grant from Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Miami Dade Public Library System. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
