When You Move, I Move: Video Screening

April 20, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

As part of the Peace, Justice and Human Rights Initiative , Florida Atlantic University is hosting a video screening of “When You Move, I Move,” an arts-informed research project. The video explores Serena Hoermann’s spoken word workshop facilitated last month in Miami. During this workshop, writers and community members came together to respond to displacement pressures in ethnic enclaves in Miami, Florida. The project asks, in ethnic enclaves, how do individuals experience displacement, especially related to (climate) gentrification?

Conversation on similar topics will be explored after the screening, and light refreshments will be provided. This program is funded in part through a Florida Humanities Community Project Grant in partnership with Florida Atlantic University.
