“With A Made Up Mind” Dunbar Community School Screening

November 7, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

WGCU Public Media, along with the SWFL Alpha Educational and Leadership Foundation, are hosting a screening and discussion of “With a Made Up Mind: the History of the Black Vote in Southwest Florida.” From Jim Crow legislation at the turn of the century to today’s push to return civil rights to citizens who have served their felony sentences, this short film examines the history of the fight for ballot access in Florida. The screening will be followed by a panel of Lee County community members active in local voter engagement.

Registration is requested. Please email Anne Stavely at [email protected] to RSVP.

This program is funded in part through a Florida Humanities Broadcasting Hope Media Grant in partnership with WGCU Public Media.
