Women in STEM Night

February 27 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Museum of Science and History-Jacksonville and ScienceSis present a new collaborative exhibit “Powering the Next Generation: Black Women in STEM.” Eight local women of color leading Jacksonville’s STEM fields describe their journeys in STEM with the purpose to inspire young learners of color to pursue STEM-focused interests and career possibilities. This special evening event features the opening of this new exhibit and a meet and greet and Q&A with the eight women featured in this exhibit. Admission is required for ages three and up to attend. All events are included in admission.

Schedule of Events

5:00 PM: Check In, Exhibit Tours, Social Hour and Light Refreshments provided by women-owned food trucks

6:00 PM: Official presentation of “Powering the Next Generation: Black Women in STEM”

7:00 PM: Meet and greet and Q&A with featured women in the exhibit; participating scholars include: Ashantae Gree, Supervisor, Duval County Soil & Water Conversation District Group 4 Catrina Joseph, Speech Language Pathologist, Brooks Rehabilitation Center Dr. Candice Kennedy, Co-Founder, Total Foot Care & Wellness Dr. Kia Kemp Mitchell, Medical Director, Family Medicine Florida Dr. Mallory Whitely, Family Practice Physician, Ascencion Dr. Triana Watkins, Pharmacist, Walgreens Dr. Wendy Norfleet, CEO, Norfleet Integrated Solutions Monique Thompson, President and Principal Consultant, Custom Strategic Solutions LLC Erica Willie, CEO, ScienceSis
