Word of South: Craig Pittman and Andy Marlette In Conversation
April 22 @ 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm

Word of South Festival of Music and Literature welcomes Florida native and author Craig Pittman and editorial cartoonist Andy Marlette for an authors’ conversation. Born in Pensacola, Pittman graduated from Troy State University in Alabama, where his muckraking work for the student paper prompted an agitated dean to label him “the most destructive force on campus.” Since then, he has covered a variety of newspaper beats and quite a few natural disasters, including hurricanes, wildfires and the Florida Legislature, winning state and national awards. Pittman is the author of five books.
This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase after the conversation. Parking for this and all other Word of South events is available in the parking garages and lots around Cascades Park. State garages and parking lots are free nights and weekends.
Funding is provided in part through a Florida Humanities Book Festival Grant with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Florida Litfest. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
