Resources for Grantees

Congratulations on being awarded a grant from Florida Humanities!

Now that you have been awarded funding from Florida Humanities, you have tasks ahead to reach your project goals. To assist you throughout your project, we’ve created a one-stop-shop of the resources you’ll need to successfully complete your grant’s required tasks: from acknowledgment statements and logos to templated legislative letters, and sample event surveys and evaluations to where to find your Final Report.

Your projects strengthen vibrant communities and cultures, promote civic engagement, spark thoughtful community dialogue, and reflect on the human experience across the Sunshine State. Florida Humanities is thrilled to embark on this journey with you as you fulfill your project’s goals.

    Please find here an example of a letter to your elective officials, such as a State Representative, Senator, US Congressperson, Mayor, or Councilperson. If awarded a Florida Humanities grant, all recipients are required to send letters to their legislature notifying them of the award and the impact this will bring in their local communities.

    Acknowledgment

    Awarded funds are provided by Florida Humanities through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. All materials publicizing or resulting from award activities must contain an acknowledgment of Florida Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities support and carry the appropriate logo.

    The acknowledgment must also include the following statement:

    “Funding for this program was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this (publication) (program) (exhibition) (website) do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.”

    This form is a sample of a contract between a host organization and the speaker to confirm a date, time, location, format, and any travel costs. This document is for sample use only and not for organizational use.

    Florida Talks funding is provided by Florida Humanities with funds from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. All materials publicizing or resulting from award activities must contain an acknowledgment of Florida Humanities and carry the Florida Humanities logo and the Culture Builds Florida logo.

    The acknowledgment must also include the following statement:

    Share the survey link at virtual programs to gather audience feedback. Organizations automatically receive survey cards for in-person programs to distribute and send to Florida Humanities. Survey cards can be sent to :

    Acknowledgement

    The following exhibition credit line and logos for the Smithsonian Institution, Florida Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities must appear on all exhibition-related promotional materials. This statement does not need to be in the same size font as that of the sponsor logos, nor must it be located immediately adjacent to the logos. Type in the logos must be legible and no smaller than 5 points. Please consult your Museum on Main Street Local Coordinator Handbook for further details.

    “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Florida Humanities. Support for the local exhibition and programming was provided through a grant from Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
