Program Details

In this program, Dr. Fromm introduces Charles Deering’s commitment to environmental preservation in Biscayne Bay and his world-class art collection he brought to his estate nearly one hundred years ago. Audiences are introduced to Deering’s world-class art collection in this presentation including works by Sergeant, Saint-Gaudens, Corot, Meclhers, Whistler, Homer, and others.

About Annette

Annette B. Fromm is a folklorist who specializes in ethnicity and immigrant cultures and has worked in museums for over 35 years. She has curated exhibits about Native American history and art, and writes and speaks about multiculturalism and museums, ethnographic museum practices, and more. Most recently, she led the graduate museum studies program at Florida International University.
