Creating a We: Become America
Join the Miami Dade College for a special event funded in part by Florida Humanities’ and PBS Books’ “Life, Liberty + Libraries” initiative. Students will engage in conscious dialogue about their and/or their family’s immigrant story. How they perceive the state of America to be in terms of democracy, and what they would like for their present as well as the future of their country to look like. This workshop will provide a holding space that highlights, empowers and creates a sense of shared experiences among the Miami Dade College community; and will highlight a diversity of voices centered in the place we now call home, the United States of America. This is a Literati Book Club sponsored event.
