A Musical Journey Through Florida

September 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm

This presentation takes audiences on a historical journey through the state, featuring performances of songs covering a wealth of historical events, characters, and folklore with in-depth storytelling about Ponce de Leon’s voyage to Florida in 1513, Henry Flagler’s building of the Florida East Coast Railway, Florida’s unique ecosystems, and more.

Original songs come from Chris Kahl’s Florida-themed albums, Orange Blossom Memories and Sunshine Kid. Chris Kahl is a Florida folk musician and storyteller. He wrote and recorded two Florida-themed albums, Orange Blossom Memories and Sunshine Kid. He performs statewide and presents for the Florida State Touring Roster, Florida Historical Society, and Arts4All Florida, among others. He is a graduate of Rollins College.

Audience invited to come as you are. No special dress required. Program is fun and presentable for all ages.

Funding for this Florida Talks program is provided in part by Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Sebring Historical Society.
