A Musical Journey Through Florida

This presentation takes audiences on a historical journey through the state, featuring performances of songs covering a wealth of historical events, characters, and folklore with in-depth storytelling about Ponce de Leon’s voyage to Florida in 1513, Henry Flagler’s building of the Florida East Coast Railway, Florida’s unique ecosystems, and more.

Original songs come from Chris Kahl’s Florida-themed albums, Orange Blossom Memories and Sunshine Kid. Chris Kahl is a Florida folk musician and storyteller. He wrote and recorded two Florida-themed albums, Orange Blossom Memories, and Sunshine Kid. He performs statewide and presented for the Florida State Touring Roster, Florida Historical Society, and Arts4All Florida, among others. He is a graduate of Rollins College.

Registration is suggested but not required to attend. This event is free and open to the public and all interested guests. Please see additional parking in the rear of the Welcome Center & History Museum on Vine Street if the front lot is full. The guest speaker Chris Kahl, will be scheduled to start at 6:30pm, but the exhibit will be open prior to and ready to be viewed by all those in attendance from April 1st through the summer months.
