Blueberries! hosted by the West Nassau Historical Society

April 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the West Nassau Historical Society for the first of several guest presentations to celebrate their new exhibit, “Nassau = Food + Culture: What We Each Bring to the Table.”

Guest presenter Amir Al Theeb will speak about his experiences as a second-year farmer of blueberries, now Nassau County’s top crop. At 6:30 pm, a light meal will be offered, followed by his presentation at 7 pm. Blueberries will be the featured dish.

Admission is free and open to the public, but donations are always accepted.

The exhibit will be open before and after this presentation, next door inside the historic Callahan Train Depot.

“Nassau = Food + Culture: What We Each Bring to the Table” is one of seven exhibitions statewide that explore the people, lands and histories that come together to tell the stories of Florida’s shared food experience. Sponsored by Florida Humanities with funding from the Jacarlene Foundation, this interactive exhibition is presented by the West Nassau Historical Society in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street program. Additional local support has been provided by Rayonier and Florida Power and Light.
