Exhibition Grand Opening: “Nassau = Food + Culture, What We Each Bring to the Table”
March 28 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The West Nassau Historical Society is excited to host the grand opening of its new exhibit, “Nassau = Food + Culture: What We Each Bring to the Table.” From the ocean shore to the river banks, for centuries Nassau County has become home to peoples from many backgrounds. Each have brought their own unique foods, ingredients and cooking techniques with them, and each have contributed to the common table that is Nassau County culture.
Come explore how the diverse peoples who came to Nassau County throughout the centuries have contributed to the unique blend of cultures that reflect who we are. The exhibit will remain on display from March 28 to December 12, 2026. The exhibition opening is part of the 21st annual Railroad Day festivities, complete with classic car show, live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, model trains and antique machines. Free admission with donations accepted. Parking is free.
“Nassau = Food + Culture: What We Each Bring to the Table” is one of seven exhibitions statewide that explore the people, lands and histories that come together to tell the stories of Florida’s shared food experience. Sponsored by Florida Humanities with funding from the Jacarlene Foundation, this interactive exhibition is presented by the West Nassau Historical Society in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street program. Additional local support has been provided by Rayonier and Florida Power and Light.
