Hastings Celebrates Grand Opening of “Field to Fork: Voices of Hastings’ Food Story” Exhibition
April 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Hastings Main Street presents the grand opening of “Field to Fork: Voices of Hastings’ Food Story,” a new exhibition that explores how food shapes identity, culture, economy, and community life in Hastings, Florida’s historic Potato Capital. Through photographs, stories, artifacts, and interactive elements, the exhibit brings to life the voices of farmers, families, and food leaders whose work has sustained the region for generations.
The exhibit will remain on display at Hastings Nutrition from April 1 to May 15, 2026, offering residents, visitors, and students a unique opportunity to explore the history and future of food in rural Florida. The public ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place from 12-1 p.m., followed by the official exhibit reveal at 1:30 p.m. Visitors will enjoy local foods and guided tours of the exhibit.
“Field to Fork” is one of seven exhibitions statewide that explore the people, lands and histories that come together to tell the stories of Florida’s shared food experience. Sponsored by Florida Humanities with funds from the Jacarlene Foundation, this interactive exhibition is presented by Hastings Main Street in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street program. Visit the Hastings Main Street website for the latest news on public programs and other events to complement the exhibit.
