Newspaper in Education: Forgotten Front: Florida During the Revolutionary War

May 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Florida Press Educational Services, Flagler College, and Buzztown Media Group for a fascinating conversation about Florida’s little-known history during the Revolutionary War period!

In 1763, France, Britain and Spain signed the Treaty of Paris at the end of the French and Indian War. As part of the treaty, Spain gave up Florida to Britain in exchange for Havana. The British then divided Florida into two territories: East Florida and West Florida, governed from St. Augustine and Pensacola, respectively. East and West Florida were the only two southern colonies to remain loyal to King George III. There is no charge to attend this public event, but registration is required.

This event will take place in the Virginia Room in the Ringhaver Student Center. For directions and parking information, click here.
