“The Little Brown Bird” Film Screening and Discussion

May 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In part two of the Jacksonville Public Library’s eight-part “Conservation Series,” join the Library to watch the documentary film, The Little Brown Bird, followed by a conversation led by Andrew Schumann, Conservation and Recovery Program Manager, White Oak Conservation, and Board Member, Duval Audubon Society.

This documentary, created by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Wildpath, highlights the endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow, with only about 80 remaining in the wild. Biologist Fabiola ‘Fabby’ Baeza-Tarin and an unexpected team, including Andrew Schumann, are working to protect these sparrows, their dwindling habitat, and the headwaters of the Everglades.

Registration is required, with walk-ins welcome on a space available basis.

Funding for this program was provided through a grant from Florida Humanities with funds from The Mosaic Company. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or The Mosaic Company.
