Women Politicking Politely: Breaking Boundaries in the Workplace and the Home

March 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This presentation, based on the book of the same name published in 2017, includes the relatively unknown stories of six important women who laid the foundation for improving women’s equality in the U.S. While they largely worked behind the scenes, they made a significant impact to women’s role in the workplace and the home and in the advancement of women’s rights during the 1950s through the 1970s. Registration is suggested, but not required.

Kimberly Voss, PhD, is a professor of journalism at the University of Central Florida. She has published five books, including Re-Evaluating Women’s Page Journalism in the Post-World War II Era and Women Politicking Politely. She has published over fifty journal articles about women journalists.
