“Americans” Grand Opening at Okeechobee Historical Courthouse
October 17 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us on October 17th at the Okeechobee Historical Courthouse for the opening of “Americans.”
Based on a major exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, “Americans” explores how deeply intertwined American Indians are in the culture of the United States. Opening day activities are hosted by the Okeechobee Historical Society, Okeechobee Main Street, and the Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners, with the participation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
This event will highlight the Seminole Culture with speakers, displays, food, crafts, and access to the Smithsonian “Americans” exhibit. The exhibition will be open at the Historic Courthouse, October 17 – December 5, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
